I'm not there, but I'm just sayin' =/
Naw - truth be told, after Katrina the New Orleans has done what was necessary, which was over-react. No known fatalities so far, which is awesome. I think what happened, the evacuation process and all was orchestrated as it should have been with amazing results. Here's the problem: next time, no one will leave. Its back to business as usual for the gulf coast. I mean, hurricanes have been hitting that area for a very long time. Katrina was an exceptional storm and, unfortunately, no one could ever predict, in time, if a storm is gonna be a Katrina or a Gustav.
When I was a boy I was in Clearwater Fla. on vacation with the family when a hurricane, name unknown, came into the gulf. My family packed up and we headed back north with haste. Like all but 2 or 3 storms I have known have been, this one wasn't a huge thing to deal with.
The folk of Fla. got complacent and when hurricane Hugo moved through, they all got raped.
No point to this blog - just thinking.....
